Into '12

When I looked after Pete's websites we launched WHO TV, an internet channel that looped DVDs when we weren't streaming live material. I made the DVDs up mainly from my own collection and thought the following might be of interest. It's a clip of the band performing 'I Don't Even Know Myself' for the BBC show 'Into 71', a new years eve show recorded 41 years ago tomorrow! I've also included the following clip of 'Won't Get Fooled Again' on Top of the Pops which was broadcast the following July. I see on YouTube that there's some discussion about whether 'the Into 71' footage exists in its entirity (Don't Know Myself and Naked Eye). I can confirm that it does, however not in the bands archive.

(sugar) Substitute

Early next year I'm arranging an event (local to me) for the charity Diabetes UK. It's till taking shape but both Roger and Pete have agreed to donate items to it - Roger a signed microphone from his Tommy tour and Pete is going to sign half a dozen prints (also signed by me) of a photo I took of him (shown below). Obviously I'd like to give Who fans a chance to get their hands on these and raise money for a really good charity. I'll post something nearer the time showing how to bid on these.

Pete's Schecter raises £34,850 !

Pete recently donated the Schecter guitar he played at Live Aid to a charity auction at Christie's. The auction took place on November 15th and fetched £34,850 ($55,412). Pete also provided a letter of provenance stating 'After heavy pressure from Bob Geldof, The Who agreed to reform for a one-off appearance at Live Aid.... Our set was 20 minutes... I used my Black Schecter Telecaster on the last two numbers... It was a great day and I'm glad I was part of it. I think The Who are one of the few acts who appeared at Live Aid and Live 8 twenty years later '. The money raised all goes to the Band Aid Trust.
